Funeral services for Charles Wayne Clark, 92, of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at RestHaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home.
Wayne was born on January 21, 1927 in Lynn County, Texas to Edgar and Ouida Clark and died peacefully on the morning of September 19, 2019 at Good Life Senior Living in Lovington. Wayne served his country in the United States Navy beginning in 1945 at the age of 18. He earned his master of Business administration in May of 1978 at Eastern New Mexico University. Wayne worked most of his life in the oilfields of West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. Wayne was well known for his constant flow of jokes, he loved to make people laugh, especially children. He cherished his years of volunteering as a clown and making animal balloons was his specialty. In fact he was still making animal balloons a few days before his death for visiting children at Good Life.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Ouida Clark; his younger brother; Burnice and his eldest son Danny Wayne Clark.
Surviving him is his wife Jerrel-Dean Clark of Hobbs, NM; his sister: Bobbi Laing of Spokane, Washington; his youngest son: Bryan Clark of Ajijic, Mexico; grandson Jonathan Clark and spouse Jaime Clark; great-granddaughter's Adin and Kaitlyn all of Oklahoma; granddaughter Riki Clark also of Oklahoma; one step-son Brent Davis and wife Lynda Davis; three grandchildren Cory, Brannon, and Tiffany; five great-grandchildren: Kady, Chayse, Maci, Zoey and Charlie.
Visitation will be held on Monday September 23, 2019 from 9:00 am until noon at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel.
