She was a native of Victoria, Texas, and had been a resident of Lake Charles for the last 2 years. She was a member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church and had been an active member of The Jesus Church in Victoria. She retired from Detar Hospital in Victoria after more than 15 years of service.
Survivors include two sons, Artie Dial and wife Lisa of Lake Charles and Darrell Carroll and wife Shirley of Victoria; three daughters, Barbara Robins and husband Chuck and Marlene Dial, all of Victoria, and Tammy Stuart and husband Gilbert of Brenham, Texas; one brother, Paul Stauss of San Antonio; three sisters, Hertha Lala, Annie Carver and Minnie Weber, all of Victoria; nine grandchildren, Haley Dial, Celeste Gaona, Andrew, Laura, Amber and Matthew Stuart, Virginia Souther, Gene Robins, Misty Pena and Buford Robins; and five greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Johann Stauss and Hertha Zedonia Hildegard Zabel Stauss; and one sister, Dorothy Ganem.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, in Eastwood Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Murrell Ewing will officiate. Burial will be in Creel Cemetery in Reeves under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation is noon-9 p.m. today, 8 a.m.-noon Monday in the funeral home and from 1 p.m. Monday in the church.
