Doris Theresa Wetzel, 69, late of Hawley, died on Wednesday at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, after a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis. She was a retired personnel administrator at William Esty Advertising, New York City, N.Y. She was formerly a resident of Middle Village, N.Y. She was a member of the Tri-State German American Society, Port Jervis, N.Y. Doris was born in Brooklyn, N.Y,. on Oct. 9, 1931 to Anton and Lena (Pilzweger) Kirchmann. She married John Carl Wetzel on July 5, 1953, in Ridgewood, N.J. Survivors include her husband; three sons, John Wetzel and his wife Ann of Succasunna, N.J., Eric Wetzel and his wife Linda of Hemlock Farms, Hawley, and Paul A. Wetzel of Jamesville, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Andrew and Melissa. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28 at St. John Neumann Church, Lord's Valley, the Rev. Gerard Hawley will officiate. Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, on Friday, April 27 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at the convenience of the family.
