Arlene M. Hower Wengert, 75, of 348 N. 10th Ave., Lebanon, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Country Meadows, Hershey. She was the wife of Paul Wengert Sr. Born Dec. 12, 1927, in Frystown, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Davilla and Mary Stengle Hower. She was retired from the former Steffy Shoe Co. in Lebanon, where she worked as a machine operator. She was a member of St. Jacobs Kimmerlings Church in Lebanon and enjoyed playing bingo. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons Donald, husband of Robin Wengert, Kermit, husband of Joan Wengert, and Paul Jr., husband of Carol Wengert, all of Lebanon; sister Josephine Basehore of Lebanon; three grandchildren and a nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Lloyd, Morris and Davilla Hower and sisters Annie Miller, Alice Schaeffer, Isabelle Brown and Pauline Ney. Her funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Christman's Funeral Home, 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon, preceded by a viewing beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
