After attending Princeton High School, Larry enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Guadalcanal. Following his service, he returned home and started his career with Georgia Pacific, retiring with over 40 years of service. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Brewer and Priscilla Andrews. Surviving are his wife Jane (Wallace) Andrews; four sons, Devon Andrews and wife Kathy of Redmond, OR, Duane Andrews and wife Jody of Baileyville, Wayne Potter and wife Katy of Virginia Beach, VA, and Adam Potter and wife Lisa of Windham; thirteen grandchildren, Kayla, Karleigh, Caitlin, Hailey, Tanner, Julia, Angel, Eli, Brewer, Ryleigh, Paul, Nathaniel and Declan; thirteen great-grandchildren, River, Phoenix, Pierson, Wrender, Holden, Gavin, Prestin, Bryson, Harlow, Sawyer, Demi, Jack and Bennett; his sister Beverly Andrews of Bangor; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion Lacy J.
Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 25 at the Princeton Baptist Church, Main St., Princeton. Burial with military honors will follow in the South Princeton Cemetery.
