Cordova - Gilbert Lawton Fogle Jr., 73, formerly of Cordova, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019. Gilbert was the eldest son of the late Gilbert Lawton Fogle Sr. and Carolyn (Gramling) Fogle of Cope. He graduated from Edisto High School in 1965 and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in 1975. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife, Ginger (Bass) Fogle of Cordova, and the couple had two children. Gilbert worked for 34 years at Koyo Corporation in Orangeburg and was retired at the time of his death. He loved watching westerns, deer hunting, and talking to just about anybody he ever met. Survivors include his daughter Robin and her husband Matt Kurz of St. Matthews; his son Jason and his wife Cheryl (Collins) Fogle of Aiken; four grandchildren, Cady and Shelbi Kurz, both of Clemson, and Jaylen and Jacob Fogle, both of Aiken; his sister, Elaine, and her husband Jimmy Jeffcoat; brother, LaRue, and his wife Dianne (Metts) Fogle, all of Cope; his sister-in-law, Donna Melton Fogle of Gaston; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Gilbert was predeceased by his parents and his younger brother, Ollie Fogle. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg. The Rev.
