JOSEPH SIMON JORDAN
(1873-1954)

Joseph Simon Jordan, 81, of 1415 High St. died at 1 a.m. today at his home. Mr. Jordan was born May 2, 1873.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Jason Riley of Wheelersburg Rt. 1, Mrs. Alice Nelson of Lorain, Mrs. Opal Spencer of Cincinnati and Mrs. Manford Davis of Portsmouth Rt. 1; three sons, James Jordan of Robinson Ave., Robert Jordan of Minford and Rev. Herbert Jordan of Columbus; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

His wife Phoebe Alice preceded him in death in 1925. He was also preceded in death by two daughters and a son.

Mr. Jordan was a member of the South Shore Mission Baptist Church.

Funeral services are to be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the church of which he was a member with Rev. William Smith in charge. Burial is to be in Pickel Cemetery. Friends may call at Morton Funeral Home after 7 tonight.
