In the 1850 territorial census for Washington County, his name was Atchinson Meek. His middle name was Dallas. He was born in Oregon Territory, the son of Joseph and Virginia Meek. The family lived on one of the earliest land claims in Washington County. His father received a provisional land grant on Sept 4, 1847, just days prior to Atchinson's death.

This cenotaph marker includes siblings H.C. (Hiram Craig Meek), W.H. (William Henry Harrison Meek), and Josephine Meek. All 4 children died between 1858 and 1860, prior to construction of this church or first cemetery burial (1873 and 1876, respectively). His parents' and other siblings' names appear on the other 3 sides of this monument. A.D.D. Meek died about one month shy of his eleventh birthday.

"In Washington county, on the 31st July, from injuries received by being caught between the wagon and barn while engaged with his father, Joseph L. Meek, in getting in hay, DALLAS MEEK; aged 11 years."
