Ellis Otis Moore was the son of the late William "Bill" and Ida (Carter) Moore. He was united in marriage to Melva Mearl Hayes on July 28, 1945 in Tulare, Calif. They moved back to Norwood, Mo. in 1946. Ellis was a truck driver for many years. He later went to work for Dairy Farmers of America and remained their until his retirement. Ellis truly enjoyed working on his beef farm which he and his wife purchased in 1951. Ellis was saved and baptized at an early age and was a life long member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, Ellis was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Roark; three brothers, Don, Gene, and David Moore; and by a grandson, Eldon Ray Moore. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Mearl Moore; four sons, Eldon Moore and Vola, of Elkland, Mo., Lonnie Moore and Lorna, of Mountain Grove, Mo., David Moore of Strafford, Mo., and Jerry Moore and Tammy of Mountain Grove, Mo.; two daughters, Janice Goad of Springfield, Mo.; and Debbie Heim and George of Lamar, Mo.; two brothers, Delmas Moore of Mountain Grove, Mo. and Bill, Jr., of Springfield, Mo.; five sisters, Odessa Butcher, Laura Loveland, Glora Chism, and Flora Hilton of Springfield, Mo., and Freeda Hull of Mountain Grove, Mo.; twelve grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces; many other relatives and friends.

Ellis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be missed by all that knew him.
