Mass of Christian Burial for Buena Vista Lohmann, 84, Lawrence, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Big Springs.
Mrs. Lohmann died Monday, June 14, 1999, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
She was born Dec. 15, 1914, in Stull, the daughter of George and Jessie (Moore) Anderson. She graduated from Topeka Catholic High School in 1934.
Mrs. Lohmann was a cook from 1964 to 1985 at Kansas University before she retired and began cooking for priests at St. John's. She had worked at Crown Drug Store in the 1950s.
Her memberships included St. John's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, St. Jude's Circle No. 1127 and St. John's Altar Society. She was an affiliate of the Capuchin Province of Mid-America.
She married John H. Lohmann on Aug. 24, 1939, in Lawrence. He died July 25, 1961.
Survivors include a daughter, Marcia Elliott, Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Michael Lohmann, Lawrence; a stepdaughter, Mary Villemain, San Antonio, Tex.; a stepson, John D. "Bud" Lohmann, Dewey, Okla.; a brother, Gene Anderson, Overbrook; a sister, Mary Turley, Cody, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the Building Fund at St. John's, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
