Josephine O. Nelson, 95, Velva, died Monday, June 11, 2007 in a Velva Nursing home.

Josephine was born on January 31, 1912 on the family farm, near White Earth, ND, one of eleven children to Edward and Olivia (Olson) Enger. She was reared and educated in White Earth, ND. She worked at Trinity Health in Minot for a time.

On September 4, 1933, she was united in marriage to John Libke in Lidgerwood, ND. They made their home in Lidgerwood until 1942, when they moved South of Velva, ND. He died November 18, 1965. She married Norman Nelson February 24, 1967. They lived in Hazen, Stanton, Velva and Minot. Norman died on August 21, 2003. Following his death, Josephine lived in the Edgewood Vista Apartments in Minot, until entering the Souris Valley Care Center in July of 2006.

She attended the Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva, and enjoyed crocheting. Josephine enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Surviving relatives include her daughter Josephine (Duane) Teigen, Minot, son: Edward Libke, Velva, ND. Eleven grandchildren: 21great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and six brothers and four sisters.

Visitation: Friday, one hour prior to service time at the church.

Funeral Service: Friday, June 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, ND

Burial: Velva Community Cemetery, Velva, ND
