He was born in Hoehn, Colorado on August 18, 1924 to Juanita and Pete Abeyta.
John worked for the City of Trinidad as a Street and Bridge Foreman until he retirement.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Pete and Juanita: Brothers, Ted Abeyta, Eloy Abeyta and Sister: Lillian Pacheco. Survivors are Linda (Dennis) Lopez of Firestone, Patricia Espinoza of Co. Springs, Terry Lynn LaCruz (Paul) of Trinidad, Shirley (Dave) Moreno of Loveland, Eugene (Linda) Abeyta of Trinidad, Carol (Tom) Aragon, Evangeline (Rueben) Rivera, Kay Lynn Abeyta, Jay Lynn Abeyta all of Denver, sisters and brothers, Beatrice Madrid, of Pueblo, Flora (Bob) Rogers of Co.
Springs, Pete (Irene) Abeyta of Pueblo, Nancy (Larry) Ortivac) of Pueblo, Rafaelita Castillo of Pueblo, Paul Abeyta of Co. Springs: 19 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral will be Monday, January 28, 1991 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers for Mr. Abeyta are; Dennis Lopez, Dave Moreno, Tom Aragon, Rubin Rivera, John Lovato, and John Dominquez.
