Obituary for Myrtle Mae Bergquist
Myrtle Mae (Roskopf) Bergquist, Age 100, passed away at PioneerCare on Friday, August 16, 2019 after a very brief illness.

Myrtle was born January 12, 1919, at the home farm south of Foxhome, to Albert and Maude (Nelson) Roskopf. She was the youngest of four children being William Oris, who died in infancy, Margaret Bergquist (Harold) Ackert, and Velma (Matthew) Moore, also of Foxhome who are all deceased.

She married Joseph A. Bergquist at the Foxhome Methodist Church on June 18, 1938. To this marriage Janice (Roger) Lehn and Candice Jo Bergquist were born. They lived in Foxhome until Joe's death in January, 1974. Myrtle continued to live there and began work. First, at Star Laundry and Cleaners and then she began employment at 3M Co. in Wahpeton, N.D. She then moved to Breckenridge. At the age of 70 she retired from the 3M Company feeling someone younger could use the work of which she was still very capable.

She was able to see Five Generations of family during her years and all thought of her as that very special Grandma. Her grandchildren are Timothy Lehn (deceased) and Thomas Lehn, Colleen (Lehn) Pechia and Rodney Lehn, Jesse Colby and Danielle (Colby) Preston (Jason). Additional survivors are nine great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren.

She was a very talented seamstress and crafter. Whatever she did was done with perfection. She was an avid crocheter and knitter. One of her last items to finish was to crochet afghans for all her nieces and nephews. No small task! Myrtle was the last living member of her generation.

Services will be Saturday, August 24th, 2:00 p.m., at the PioneerCare Celebration Center. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Assistance provided by the Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
