Ralph L. West, 83, Kokomo, passed away at 10:04 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at North Woods Village in Kokomo. He was born March 15, 1936, in Howard County, to Guy E. and Mary (Clark) West. On October 20, 1957, he married Carolyn Sue Rice, and she survives.

Ralph graduated from Greentown High School. He loved farming and was a farmer all of his life. He attended Kokomo Zion Church.

In addition to his wife, Carolyn Sue West, he is survived by his daughters, Deborah S. West, Teresa A. Miller and Nancy A. (Ralph) Knauss; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsay) Straeter, Eric Straeter, Jesse (Alycia) Straeter, Michael Straeter, Nikki (Justin) Coomer, Lindsay (Ryan) Bartrum and Whitney (Joseph) Habig; and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen Shaffer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with Pastor Ron Forsythe officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
