Tragic Death--Enos J. Flory victim of mishap at his farm Friday evening-was administering to a sick horse which falls dead in stall killing him.
Enos J. Flory, 67 years old, well known Darke County farmer, who lives near Cosmos, was crushed to death late Friday afternoon in a stall in his barn where a horse died suddenly and fell upon him.
Flory had gone to the barn to give the ailing animal some medicine and to milk his cows.
When Flory failed to return to the house within a half hour Mrs. Flory went to the barn in search of him. In the stall she saw his feet protruding from under the carcass of the horse. Mrs. Flory summoned neighbors with a dinner bell and they extricated Flory's body.
A physician who was summoned said Flory had been instantly killed. Coroner Brumbaugh also made an investigation. Flory had resided in Darke County all his life and was a member of the Lisbon Church.
Survivors are the widow, Clara;his daughters, Mrs. Clayton Buchingham of Union City, Mrs. Alva Stocksberry of near Union City, Mrs. Walter Smith of Saratoga and a brother, Jacob.
A funeral took place from the Lisbon Christian Church this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Lisbon cemetery.
