Mrs. Ellen Sloat Tompkins, who lived much of her life in Cornwall, died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clifford L. Harrison, in Ridgewood, N.J., on Sunday (April 1, 1945) after a long illness.

Born in Brooklyn, daughter of the late John Calvin and Cather­ine Lorina Bogart Sloat, she was the widow of Charles Schuyler Tompkins. She was a member of the Cornwall Presbyterian Church.

Betides the daughter, survivors are two sons, J. Edward Tomp­kins of Rahway, N.J. and Schuyler Foster Tompkins of White Plains, three grandsons, three granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

The funeral will be held in the Murtfeldt and Calyer Funeral Home at 110 Grand St. on Tues­day morning at 11, with the Rev. Arthur H. Brown of Ridgewood of­ficiating. Burial will be in Fostertown Cemetery.
