Dan Haddock, age 67, passed away on September 7, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bonne, Daddy’s girl and beloved daughter, Michelle, and he was the proud grandfather of Tori, Ty and Love. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Dan, Son, Dude and nephew, Jonathan. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Frances, sisters, Lynn (Mike), Melinda, Aletha (Donald), brother, DeWayne (Ronda) plus many wonderful nephews, nieces and their families, all of whom he loved and touched deeply.
Dan was born in Bonifay, but lived most of his younger life in Gainesville, graduating from high school there. He served as a scout in the Army National Guard as an Army Reconnaissance Specialist, earning his marksman specialist with the M-16 rifle. He was a plumber by trade. He continued to pass on the skills of his trade when he began the first vocational plumbing class at Bay Correctional Facility. Music was a part of his life from a child. He grew up singing Elvis and Merle and played the drums and guitar eventually venturing into the music business with DJ Dan’s Local Motion. His other interests include woodworking, remodeling houses, fishing and canoeing on the creek.
Dan will fondly be remembered by family and friends as a man of God, a man of his word, a motorcycle enthusiast, someone who wanted to live life making memories by taking time to travel and spending time with friends and family.
The family thanks his special friends for all their dedication during this journey; Shorty, Bill, Warren, David, Daniel, Anthony, Guy, Cassie, Ray and all the sisters. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrated his life and find comfort that he is in Heaven watching over us. He had a long-standing relationship with God and was very blessed with his faith. All are welcome to a Celebration of Life which will be held Friday, September 13th at 12 high noon in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 high noon prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Haddock Cemetery, Bonnett Pond in Wausau, FL.
