Dorothy Horner Maness passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC.

Dot was born in the Robbins area of Moore County on June 19, 1929 to the late Carl Horner and Thelma Barber Horner Williams, of Eagle Springs, NC.

She was preceded in death by children: infant Morgan, Judy Morgan Brown, Marsha Ann Morgan, Rayvonne Medlin and 2 grandchildren; brothers: Pete Horner, Russell Horner.

Dot is survived by son: Gerald W. Morgan, Sr. and wife Gale, of Robbins; daughter: Terea Medlin Williams, of Eagle Springs; brother: Gilbert Horner, Sr.; sister: Gertrude Horner Phillips; step father: Eugene T. Williams.

Dot has 9 grandchildren: G W Morgan, Jr., Star Morgan Wilson, Christy Morgan Fisher, Whitney Morgan Thomas, Taylor Morgan, Cruise Morgan, “Charlie” Richard Brown, “Pebbles” Donna Brown Smith, Terrill Morgan. She has 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Her nephews are Ronnie Horner, Donnie Horner, Danny Phillips, Gilbert Horner, Jr. and niece are Karen Cherry.

Dot was a textile worker for many years at Klopman’s in Asheboro and at Clayson’s in Star. She enjoyed many hobbies; such as growing flowers, sewing, needlework, making crafts and quilting with her cousin, Betty Muriel Scott. Dot was a very generous and caring person, who had a deep desire to share God’s love with others.

A graveside service will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Pinerest Cemetery, Robbins, NC with Pastor David Roudabush officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 PM at Kennedy Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Rock Hill Friends Church, 148 Rock Hill Church Road, Eagle Springs, NC 27242.
