Sallie Sue Beaty Langford, age 96, passed away at her home on August 31. 2019 in Houston, Texas.

She was the youngest of the eight children of Thomas Ewing Beaty and Minnie Bird Lusk. Born at home on August 16, 1923. She graduated from Throckmorton High School after repeatedly enduring a couple of her aunts as teachers.

After World War II, she lived and worked with her girlfriends in Forth Worth Texas. While working at International Harvester, she attracted the attentions of her, Mr. Ivy B. Langford. Due to company policy, he was forced to fire her in order to date her. They were married a month later and had son Martin the next year. Sue and her family spent a few years in Corpus Christi before making Houston their permanent home in 1958. The family attended Southwest Church of Christ for many years. Sue and her husband Ivy were active in the Band Parents Organization at Martin's high school, and chaperoned many of the band trips, She was one of the Astro's biggest fans.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband, Ivy Berry Langford. She is survived by her son, Martin Lynn Langford.
