Charles E. "Ed" Conklin, 76, of 20 Borah St., co-owner and past president of Conklin Limestone Co., Lincoln, which he operated from 1946 until he retired in 1984, died yesterday at Roger Williams General Hospital.
He was the husband of Lucy S. (Marasco) Conklin.
Born in Highland Park, N.J., a son of the late Charles M. and Margaret M. (Welch) Conklin, he lived in North Providence for 42 years. He previously lived in Ashley Falls, Mass.
He served in the Navy from 1931 to 1934. He was a former member of the American Legion Post, No. 86, Cumberland, former member of the Bristol Lodge of Elks and a former member of the Marieville Businessmen's Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, two brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
