Darlene, age 85, died peacefully at her home in Orangevale on February 20, 2019. She was surrounded by daughters, Jerrilynn Cole Moorhead and Teresa Cole Woodward, son-in-law Mark Moorhead, and dear family friend Robin Polone Wussow.

Darlene moved to Orangevale in 1959 with her husband Henry Cole and their children, Morris Lee, Jerrilynn, and Teresa. She was primarily a homemaker until, at the age of 32, she completed cosmetology school and began her career as a hairdresser. Darlene was the proud owner of the Cameo Beauty Salon (now home of Las Placitas Restaurant) for 6 years. Over the past 25 years she was an active ‘genealogist extraordinaire’, tracing and sharing information with all lines of her family and for friends. Without a doubt, Darlene’s most cherished role was that of loving grandmother to Allison, Nate, and Jackson. She was promoted to “Grandma Honey!- ” in 2013 by Casey J. Stieper, great –grandson.

Darlene was preceded in death by husband, Henry A. Cole, in 1988 and son Morris Lee Cole, April 24, 2018; and parents, Amon L. White and Minnie B. Morgan White. She is survived by daughters, Jerrilynn Cole Moorhead (Mark Moorhead) and Teresa Cole Woodward, both of Orangevale and now Sonoma County; Her cherished grandchildren, Allison Splan Stieper (Garritt), of Sonoma, CA; Nate C. Woodward and Jackson W. Woodward of Santa Rosa, CA; and Megan Moorhead of Sacramento, CA; Casey J. Stieper of Sonoma, CA. and Rebecca Graham of Fayetteville, North Carolina, darling niece. Plus many cousins, nieces and nephews from California to Arizona, Oklahoma and Missouri.

A celebration of life (catered luncheon to follow) will be held Sunday, April 14, 2019, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Mount Vernon Memorial Park located at 8201 Greenback Lane Fair Oaks, CA 95628
