Nancy is the daughter of Leonard Grove and Mary "Polly" Campbell. She was married a total of 4 times. Her first husband, Henry Baker, died at the age of 26 from pneumonia, leaving her a widow at age 21 with two small children: William Henry Harrison and Mary Ann Elizabeth Baker. Her second husband was Amos Coburn with whom she had two more children, Celia and Samuel. Amos died in 1869. Her third husband's name was Alick/Elick Vernon, but we don't know what happened to him. Her last and longest marriage was to Jacob Randolph. Jacob was a widower as he can be found in previous censuses with a different wife. Iowa Marriages 1850-1891 shows that she married Jacob using her name of Nancy Jane Coburn. She died with the name RANDOLPH. It is interesting to note that she is buried next to her first husband, Henry Baker, in the Ridgedale Cemetery, Polk County, Iowa. All five children survived her.
