APPLETON-Louis J. Wierichs Sr. ("Big Lou", "Bud"), passed away unexpectedly, Friday June 17, 2005 at his home.
He was born on April 30, 1930, to the late George and Anna
Schroeder) Wierichs. On June 5, 1954, he was united in marriage to the former Harriet A. Czajka.
Louis retired from the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad where he worked for 44 years as an agent. He was a member of the American Legion Post 38, American Veterans of Fox Valley Post 1212, the Rotary Club and the Traffic Club. He also served as the mayor of Johnson Creek and had attended UW Madison. He was very instrumental in the founding of POP Warner Football League. His recreational time was spent logging, being in the "North Woods" of Eagle River and sharing time with his family. He will be well remembered for the love and pride he felt for his family. Louis appreciated and found peace in nature; he could be counted on for words of wisdom and acceptance of all others. Louis was an avid sportsman, lover of life and all sports. He had a generous spirit and was giving at all times.
