Emily Louisa Barnum, b. at Lapeer, Mich., 23 Aug. 1838; married at Token Creek, Wis., 3 Dec. 1858, John Robinson Hazen, a farmer, son of Erastus and Lucy (Hamilton) Hazen, of Waterloo, Wis. He was born at Westville, N. Y., in 1834. They settled at Waterloo, and were living there in Jan. 1875; having dwelt for three years in Mitchell, Iowa. He served as lieutenant in Co. K, 16th Reg., Wis. Vol., from 15 Aug. 1861 till his resignation, 4 Nov. 1862.
Her second husband was a cousin, Dr. Linus Squire, son of Austin Squire and Rebecca Barnum.
