Husband of Louise (Manziak) Wilkes

Henry T. Wilkes

Groton - Henry T. Wilkes, 73, of Groton, passed away on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London.

He was born in Scotland County, N.C., on July 8, 1938, the son of Dilly Port and Ina Mae Wilkes.

Henry retired as a senior chief after 32 years from the U.S. Navy. He then worked as an electrician at Triangle Wire, Longwood and Dyna Systems. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Sub Vets, and the Electrical Union #86.

Henry is survived by his wife, Louise (Manziak) Wilkes, his son, Andrew J. Wilkes, his daughters, Julianna Rovero and Cassandra Wilkes, all of Groton; and a sister, Catherine Williams of Southern Pines, N.C.; as well as two grandsons.

A private graveside service will be held in Starr Burying Ground, Groton.
