On August 29, 1987, Brian married Ann Osterholt in Sioux City. Brian lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Janesville, Wisconsin and Kingsley, Iowa before returning to Sioux City in 2013. Throughout the years, Brian worked as a computer software consultant.
Brian was a member of the New Life Community Church of the Nazarene in Sioux City and served as the vice president of the Siouxland Umpires Association. He enjoyed golf, music, guitar, pool and loved sports.
Brian passed away peacefully at his residence after a long struggle with diabetes. He was currently on a transplant list for a heart and kidney.
He is survived by his parents, Jack and Sherryl Jones of Wahpeton; brother, Wade (Martha) Jones of Grover, MO; two sons, Dylan of Sergeant Bluff and Evan of Cedar Falls; two nephews, Keaton of St. Louis and Austin (Jillian) of Ankeny; niece, Mackenzie of Des Moines; and many other family and friends.
