When I read the information that was attached I realized that I have different information. This is what I have:

Her mother -Sarah Jane Bennett married Thomas Akers -Dallas County Texas. They had Sarah Frances Akers, Christopher Columbus Akers, and Izora Akers (died about 1 year if age.) Thomas Akers died-Tarrant Co., TX (do not have death date or other record though I may be able to locate something. Sarah Jane then married John David Prather -do not have proof-they had Mary Ellen Prather and John Hamilton Prather. Sarah Jane Bennett Prather dies and John David Prather remarries. He then dies so the 4 children do not have a living parent and were supposedly very unhappy. This is what was passed down in the family. The father (Hamilton Bennett)of Sarah Jane Bennett Akers Prather lived in Pearsall, Frio County, Texas went to Tarrant County and told the children if they wanted to go with him to drop what they were doing and get in the wagon. The children did just that.

Sarah Frances Akers married Balis Bates 21 Sept 1871 in Pearsall, Texas. They had the following Children: 1.Arthur Anderson Bates (1872-1936), 2.William Balis Bates(1874-1955), 3. Lawrence Hughlett Bates (1876-1933), 4. Izora Akers Bates -I knew her as Dodie (not sure where she got that name) (1878-1963), 5. Sam Bennett Bates (1880-1922), 6. Finis Winifred Bates-I met him once when he and his wife Arah came to visit us in Grand Isle, Louisiana, when I was a teenager, 7.George Akers Bates (1885-1885), 8.Columbus (Lum) Earl Bates (1887-1913), 9. Bertie Ione Bates (1889-1891), 10. Leonore (Nor) Bates -she lived with us the last few months of her life-I was 5-(1891-1948), 11. Lucile Bates (1894-1933), 12. Balis Anderson Bates (1898-1931). Lucile Bates was my grandmother. My mother (Zora Lucile Morgan) was 11 when her mother died of TB and her sister Leonore Akers Morgan was 1. Their father died 8 months later. The girls lived with Dodie and Nor in Houston after that.

The family first lived in Batesville before moving to the Sabinal area.

I am always looking for any information on my family.
