Mrs. Mary Glass Dies

Mrs. Mary Glass, 84, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fischer, several miles northwest of Kimball, Sunday, March 12. Other daughters at her bedside when death came were Mrs. David Roberts, of Omaha, and Mrs. Ada Callahan, of Kimball. The body was brought to St. Edward with services at the Catholic church at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, Rev. Father Mulligan officiating. Interment was made in the Palestine Baptist cemetery beside the body of Mr. Glass who passed away 26 years ago. Pallbearers were old time neighbors from the Palestine community. Quite a number of relatives and friends accompanied the cortege from Kimball and a large number of friends from this community attended the last rites. Mary Jane Cady was born January 22, 1855 at Hennipen, Ill. She was married to George Glass January 1, 1876. To this union eight children were born, seven girls and one boy, of whom three daughters survive. Mrs. Glass came to Platte county, Nebraska with her husband and baby in 1878. She made her home until five years ago when she went to Kimball to live with her daughter. Mrs. Glass was a kind and loving mother and loved by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of St. John’s church in Platte county.
