Margaret E. Bauer, 94, of Decatur, IN, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur. Margaret was born in Garrett, IN on November 30, 1924, to the late Howard and Frances E. “Fanny” (Carr) Strange. Margaret was married to John Henry Bauer; he preceded her in death in 1969.
She was a former member of Emmaus Lutheran Church. She was a bus driver for 24 years, driving for Fort Wayne Community and MLK Montessori Schools.
Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother and Grandmother. Her Grandchildren were the most important thing in her life, as well as enjoying her cats.
She is survived by 3 sons, Kevin (Donna) Bauer of Ossian, Robert A. Bauer of Fort Wayne, and James R. (Donna) Bauer of Indianapolis; daughter, Diane L. Carpenter of Prescott Valley, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Timothy Carpenter, a daughter-in-law, Sherry Monnier-Bauer, and 3 brothers, Al, Vernon, and Robert Strange.
On Friday, August 30, 2019 visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 5:30 p.m., with visitation resuming from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. all at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at a later date at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN.
