Rev. Doyal Howard Adamson, 80, of Oneonta, AL., was born on November 26, 1938 to the late Howard "Bud" and Gladys Phillips Adamson. He passed away on August 24, 2019. He was a member of Straight Mountain Baptist Church and he preached the gospel for over 50 years touching many lives along the way. He retired from UAB Hospital as a surgical maintenance mechanic. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Nan Dickie Adamson; children Patrick Doyal Adamson (Darlene), Tina Nannette Phillips (Glenn), Phillip Henry Adamson, Audria Adamson White (Tom) and Angela Adamson Willard, seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two brothers. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Lemley Chapel at 3:00 PM with Bro. Jeff Lybrand, Bro. Darwin Cardwell, Bro. Pat Adamson, Bro. Haskell Adamson and Bro. Ricky Statham officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Lemley Funeral Home from 5 PM to 8 PM and on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 8 AM until service time. Burial will be Straight Mountain Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandchildren Jordan Adamson, Adam Nesmith, Eric Nesmith, Evan Nesmith, Ethan White and Kevin Hawkins; honorary pallbearers will be Phil Dean and Danny Gilliland.
