Allen Williams Finlinson, 62, passed away August 23, 2019 in Provo, Utah.

Born August 9, 1957 in Rupert, Idaho to Richard Lyman Finlinson and LaVon Williams. He married Breta Anne Walker of Provo on August 14, 1981 in the Provo Utah Temple. Married for thirty-eight years, they have raised their five children in Orem, Utah and have been blessed with 10 grandchildren.

Allen grew up in Mesa, Arizona, graduating from Westwood High School and served in Boston, Massachusetts as a missionary.

He was known for his genuine love of others and fun personality. He had the ability to make others feel recognized and important. In spite of his diabetic health challenges from his youth, he enjoyed life to the fullest.

Allen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his family with all his heart. He was a hardworking man and will be long remembered for his kindness, humor and generosity toward his family, friends and community.

Allen spent the first part of his career working in the entertainment industry. During that time he made many friends whom he remained close with throughout his life. He spent the latter half of his career managing real estate ventures. He was a natural at complex problem solving, planning, and organization, while maintaining a focus on people and relationships, despite the demanding nature of both careers. One thing that set Allen apart from most was his innate ability to make others feel welcomed and valued.

After retiring, Allen spent nearly every moment with his wife, Breta. He was so sweet to her and amazed at her constant support and companionship. He continued to spend his time focused on others, serving his family and friends. He was often on the phone, calling, and checking in on those he loved and cared about. He was always curious and spent a fair amount of time researching and studying up on a broad range of topics. He developed a passion for beekeeping and it became a family affair. He even bought a bee suit for the grandkids so they could help him with his hives. Nothing was more precious to Allen than his grandkids. They felt his authenticity and love, and adored him.

His influence was incalculable. He continually worked with and loved the youth. He had great expectations for them and was not afraid to let them know where he stood on difficult subjects. He had the gift of showing love to them in bold ways, and they loved him for it. He was a champion of the underdog, always showing friendship and concern to those who needed it. He was trusted by all, and if one was in a difficult situation, you always knew you could turn to him for help. If one was a friend of Allen's, he knew love and loyalty.

Allen had a heart that was guided by the simple admonition he received from his dad, to "be a good guy," but he was so much more than that.

Allen is survived by his wife and children; Macie (Keven) Stratton, Tyson (Bethany) Finlinson, Kylie Power, Hayden (Hunter) Finlinson and Lydia Finlinson; nine grandchildren; Bruce, Mark, Gary and David Finlinson, brothers; and Diane Miller, sister. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Savage; and grandson, Keven John Stratton III.

In the words of a dear friend, "We will not say goodbye, we will say 'Love you, Fin!'"
