It is with great sadness the family of Klaasje "Klara" Elizabeth Struik announce her passing on October 8, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Klaasje is survived by her son Mario (Linda), her daughters CorryAnn (John) and Rose (Tom), grandchildren Jennifer (Brad), Jessica, Jeremy (Stephanie), Marissa, Jeff (Danyela), Nico and Cassandra, great- grandchildren Ayden, Mia and Sawyer and siblings Dini, Anne, Betty, Mike and John. Klaasje was predeceased by her husband Arie and brothers Casey, Jake, Clarence and Moses. Born in Ouddorp the Netherlands in 1931, Klaasje immigrated with her husband to Canada in 1955. Known for her compassionate, generous and caring nature, Klaasje worked in several positions as a midwife and nurses aid. Later in life her passion for gardening led her to create her own plant business with her daughter Rose. A Celebration of Klaasje's life will be held at the Bethel Free Reformed Church of Monarch on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 12 noon with lunch to follow.
