Mrs. Alma Delois Steed was born on May 13, 1942 in Gilmer, Texas to Mr. Melton Steed and Mrs. Gwendolyn Johnson Steed. Alma graduated from Bruce ISD in 1960. On May 25, 1969, she united in holy matrimony with William Earl Calico, and to this union three children were born. Alma was employed as a CNA for many years at Lynn Lodge in Longview,Texas. Alma joined church at an early age with Pine Grove Baptist Church. She moved her membership in 1978 to Post Oak Baptist Church. Alma was a very devoted wife, mother, sister-n-law, aunt, and friend. She was a very active member of Post Oak Baptist Church. She held officer positions with: the Choir, Mission, Usher Board, and Pastor's Aide Committee. She was a very loyal member and officer holder with the East Texas Baptist Association. She loved her church with all of her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents ; Melton and Gwendolyn Steed, her in-law's A.W. & Armie Calico, Three sisters; Cora Lee Johnson, Ardela Tennison, and Artie Tennison, two brother's : Roger Lee Steed and Lloyd Jean Steed. Alma leaves to cherish her memories: A loving husband of 49 years William Earl Calico, Sr; Three children , William Calico Jr. of Kilgore, Sandra Calico of Kansas, and Steven Calico( Liliva) of Kilgore; Two grandchildren Tayla Delois Calico and Steven Earl Calico II; One sister, Betty Starr of Longview; One brother, Tommie Steed ( Patty) of Houston; Two brother-n- laws , Eight sister-n- laws; Two special nieces Gwendolyn Akadri and Mayo Smith ( Johnny) of Houston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
