Mrs. Zona Lee Adcock Greenwood, age 79 of Sparta, passed away Wednesday August 21, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Greenwood was born May 15, 1940 in the Indian Mound Community of Dekalb County to the late Henry & Miranda Pittman Adcock. She worked in garment factories and later Mallory. She loved children and was Ma to a host of kids. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by an infant son Christopher Lynn Greenwood; sisters Jean England and Nell Luna.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years Bobby Jack Greenwood

Son: Earl (Tammy) Greenwood

Daughter: Angie (Charlie) Hickey

Grandchildren: Meagan (Derrick) Wilson, Tyler Greenwood, Tori Ann Greenwood, Sidney Lowery

Step-grandchildren: John David Lowery, Natasha (Jarred) Young, Josh (Lindsay) Lowery, Lorie (Art) Robbins, Debbie (Stacy) Turner, Brittany (John) Raines, Tyler Heady, Brandon Heady

Nineteen great and step-great grandchildren

Three sisters: Marie Howard, Betty (J.C.) Slatten, Judy Moore

Two brothers: Gerald (Peggy) Adcock, Dennis Adcock

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Thursday, August 22, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Taylors Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11-1:00pm Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home. Derrick Wilson and Jared Moore will officiate.
