Date of birth, 17 Aug 1781, comes from "History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield (CT)" by Donald Lines Jacobus, published 1930, Vol. 2 of 3 volumes, page 55. That book also provides that Burr Bank was baptized 23 Sept 1781.

That book also shows the father of Burr Banks to be Nehemiah Banks, son of Nehemiah Banks.

That book further shows that Burr Banks's father, Nehemiah Banks was born on Oct 1754 and died at Greenfield, CT, 19 April 1835, age 81. Nehemiah married on 21 Jan 1779 Sarah Sherwood (Burr's mother), who was born about 1757 and died 4 Nov 1823 age age 66.

The book shows the children of Nehemiah and Sarah Banks (that is, the siblings of Burr Banks) as:

1) Zalmon Bradley b. 9 Nov 1779; d. 17 Mar 1864;
2) Burr b. 17 Aug 1781;
3) Samuel b. 2 May 1784;
4) Nehemiah b. 10 Oct 1786 (twin with Sarah);
5) Sarah b. 10 Oct 1786 (twin with Nehemiah);
6) Anna b. 11 May 1789;
7) Abigail b. 8 Dec 1790;
8) Mary b. 23 Feb 1793;
9) Eliphalet b. 6 Apr 1795.

Burr Banks operated a store in Danbury, CT, according to family information. He married Abigail Sherwood in CT on 25 Nov 1806. Their first 5 children were born in CT. Their 2nd child, William Burr Banks, died Sept 1813 at age 3. The month following the child's death their 4th child was born and they named him William Burr, quite possibly to honor the son they just lost.
Around 1819, the family arrived in Indiana.
Three more children were born then their mother, Abigail Sherwood Banks died 1 April 1825, leaving Burr Banks with the 5 surviving children.
Burr Banks remarried the next year, in October or November 1826. His second wife was named Eleanor McKinney. I have little information concerning her and cannot determine who are her parents or any prior spouses. I have no proof concerning birth and death dates, but she supposedly died 9 Nov 1826, which would be just days after her marriage. Information welcomed.
He married his 3rd wife Elizabeth Moore on 11 Sept 1829. She died 1858.

Richard Dixon reports that in 2009 he searched the entire cemetery and could not find Burr Banks' stone. In Sept 2016, as part of the Banks-Standish Cemetery Restoration Project, the stone was discovered, dug-up, reset and cleaned.
