CASTOR, LA - Our beloved "Granny", Lillian Virginia Page Heron, passed from this life on June 30, 2007 to have a joyful reunion in heaven with her family and, most of all, her Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James R. and Laura Page; her husband, Willie A. Heron; three sons, Willie LaVaughn, Gussie LaVelle, and Jimmye Ray Heron; seven brothers and sisters; two granddaughters, Dovie Joyce Heron and Margaret Heron Bell Stinnett; one great-grandson, James Cook, one great-granddaughter, Mariah Heron Legg, and one great-great-grandson, Drew Wade Heron.

She is survived by one son, Gerald Glynn Heron of Livingston, TX; one brother, J. R. Page, Jr. of Shreveport, LA; and daughter-in-law, Mildred Heron of Splendora, TX. She leaves behind more than 111 direct descendents; grandchildren, Ronnie Heron of Houston, TX, Kenneth Heron, Greg Heron, and Bill Heron of Castor, LA, Jimmy Heron of Jacksonville, TX, Billy Ray Heron of Elkhart, TX, Mike Heron of Splendora, TX, Norma Faye Smith of Saline, LA, Susan E. Mayes and LaZette Adams of Houston, TX, Iris Heron of Campti, LA, Vonna Beth Heron of Simsboro, LA, Becky Heron of Castor, LA, Angi Wright, Jeri Brown and Lori Snyder of Livingston, TX, Toni Andha of Murphy, TX and Deidre Saunders of Livingston, TX, along with their spouses. She also leaves behind 74 great-grandchildren, 71 great-great-grandchildren, & 4 great-great-great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.

Mrs. Heron was born August 20, 1907 in Castor, LA. She was a housewife and dedicated to raising her four sons, helping to raise her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She babysat for many years while living in Houston, TX and "adopted" almost everyone with whom she came in contact. She loved to crochet and sew. She never learned to drive anything, until she received her electric wheelchair. She was everyone's "Granny". She often said she tried to pray for everyone in her family by name every night, but she sometimes fell asleep before getting to the end of the list. She often voiced the opinion she did not know why God had left her on earth for 99 years, but she would be a witness for Him until He called her home.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and caregivers of Willis-Knighton North Medical Center and Ringgold Nurse Care Center, Ringgold, LA, and especially Dr. Phillips of Ringgold for the many years of friendship and loving care given to our Granny.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2007 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home in Coushatta, LA. Funeral services will be held at New Ebenezer Baptist Church in Castor, LA on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will immediately follow in the Page Cemetery.
Great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Granny Lillian lived a life of quiet dignity, always handing out encouragement and love. We cannot put into words how much she will be missed. Her memory will remain with us always.
