Mrs. Helms - Mrs. Augusta Gertrude Besser Helms, 72, of 3945 Plaza Rd. died last night in a Spartanburg, S. C. hospital after several years of illness.
She was born May 30, 1894, in Atlanta, Ga., daughter of R. B. and Minnie Stanford Besser.
She was a member of Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church.
The funeral is to be at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Horace Hilton, pastor, offficiating. Burial is to be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, John Lee Helms; two sons, Jack H. Griswold of Eua Gallie, Fla., and John Lee Helms, Jr. of Spartanburg; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Besser Behling of Charlotte and Mrs. Goldei Besser Browning of redwood City, Calif.; two brothers, Charles S. Besser of Charlotte and Richard G. Besser of Indian Trail; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
