LAPORTE -- Services for Floyd O. Shunk, 75, of 1003 Roberts St., who died at 9:32 a.m. Sunday in his home, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Cutler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Door Village Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and before services Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Door Village Cemetery Association.
Mr. Shunk was born July 5, 1909, in LaPorte County. He lived his lifetime in the area. On Nov. 24, 1939, in LaPorte, he married Betty Lou McGuigan. She survives with a sister, Enid Slough of Elkhart; and two brothers, Harland of Cleveland and Frank of Westville. He was a graduate of Westville High School and Manchester College. He taught at public schools in LaPorte County for nine years. He was then employed at Modine Manufacturing for 13 years. He retired in 1972 from Berkel Inc. as a machinist.
