Norman Joseph Frey, ''Butch'', 66, died January 29, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 5, 1947 to Eugene and Olivia Frey. Butch graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1965 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Brescia College in 1969 where he was later honored as Alumni of the Year. He retired from Texas Gas after 35 years of service. He was a very devoted and loving husband, a generous and supportive father, and a loyal and reliable friend who enjoyed golf, meticulously maintaining his lawn, reading, and being outdoors enjoying nature. His integrity and dependability were the cornerstone of his character.

Preceding him in death were his parents, father-in-law Luther Mercer, brothers Gene, Jack, and Don Frey as well as sister-in-law Janice Frey.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Pat Frey, children Erin Frey of Lexington, KY, Josh (Ashley) Frey of Owensboro, grandson Oliver Frey, step granddaughters Paige Warren, Julia Pickerill, and Greycee Pickerill, siblings Vince (Joan) Frey and Judy (Ronnie) Peach, mother-in-law Myrtle Mercer, sisters-in-law Deloris (Jim) Williams, Debbie (Jim) Ingram, Gertie Frey, Liz Frey, and brother-in-law James Neal (Judy) Mercer as well as 25 nieces and nephews.

His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. John Howard and his loving and compassionate staff for the wonderful individual care and support he received from them as he battled cancer. They would also like to extend thanks to the devoted friends and neighbors who served as a great source of joy to him.

Services will be noon Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Fr. Jerry Riney and Bro. Farrell Isenberg presiding. Visitation will be Friday 3-8PM and Saturday after 9AM. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
