Charles Thomas Mundy, 63, of Kingston died of cancer Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., to Charles and Jane Mundy.
He joined the Navy on Jan. 26, 1959, and served 23 years, retiring as a lieutenant commander on Oct. 31, 1982.
He married Victory Kieper in Port Orchard.
After retiring from the Navy, Mundy worked as a senior logistics analyst for Electric Boat Corp., retiring in 1996.
Mr. Mundy enjoyed fishing, traveling, woodworking and being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Jane Rammell of New Jersey; two sons, Glenn Carrier and wife, Jennifer, of Poulsbo and Gavin Kieper of Bellingham; four daughters, Tana Belger and her husband, Brian, of Kingston, Tara Schuerger and her husband, Pat, of Bremerton and Cheryl Hart and Kelley Mundy of California; two sisters, Marie Frye and Cookie Tubman of New Jersey; and five grandchildren. Mr. Mundy's father preceded him in death.
A funeral service was held Saturday at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo. Interment was at Kingston Cemetery.
