He was born in Franklin, Illinois, and had lived in Salem for number of years. He was a retired auditor for the state of Washington industrial accident division.
Survivors include his wife Marie, Salem; daughters, Majorie Johnson, in California, and Iva Lane and Lucile Johnson, both of Portland. Sister, Leta Fair, of Salem and five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
