Donald Ray Kaulaity (Tsahngyah – means “racing”) was born July 4, 1931 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Henry Kaulaity (Ahkeahquoquoot) and Alice (Ware) Kaulaity and went to be with his Lord on August 12, 2019. He grew up in the ‘Dirty Shame’ community south of Carnegie and was known by all as “DK”.
He graduated from Riverside Indian School, where he excelled in football as a fullback and was offered a scholarship to play at SWOSU in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
He enlisted in the US Army and served from January 12th, 1951 to January 9th, 1954. During this time, he served in the 11th Airborne Division and the 45th Infantry Division in Korea.
He worked as a Surveyor in Arizona, California and Oklahoma. He was an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe.

DK was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Louis Kaulaity, Bill Kaulaity, Robert Kaulaity, Manfred Kaulaity, William Witt Kaulaity, Norman Kaulaity, Thurman Kaulaity, and Thomas Kaulaity; sisters: Anna Domebo, Leda May Kaulaity, and Violet Kaulaity Kauley; and grandson, Joseph Calnimptewa.

He is survived by children- 3 Daughters: Donna Kaulaity Ahtone and husband, Terry Ahtone of Anadarko, OK, Claudia Kaulaity Wheeler and husband, Elwin Wheeler of Anadarko OK, Karen Kaulaity Calnimptewa and husband, Stewart of Fort Defiance, AZ and 1 Son: Darrell R. Kaulaity of Fort Defiance, AZ
Siblings: 1 Brother: Horace B. Kaulaity and 3 Sisters: Thelma Kaulaity Bowman, Gloria Kaulaity Holder, and Louella Kaulaity Patterson
11 Grandchildren: Michael Gooday, Kenneth Boynton, Dustin Boynton, Wallace Ahtone, Robin Davis and husband, Bivin Davis, Heath Poafpybitty and wife, Jessika, Jared Wheeler, Vanessa Calnimptewa Simeona and husband Kawika Simeona Sr, Matthew Calnimptewa, and Jason E Kaulaity.
