Rose Etta (Moore) Valentine was born May 28, 1857, Forest Home, Poweshiek, Iowa. She was the daughter of the Hon. John W. Moore and Amelia P. Woodward; sister of H.G. Moore of Minneapolis, MN, Ella Butts of Upton, WY, Emma Butts, Drusilla Kirkpatrick and Clara Allen all of Montezuma.
Rose married John William Valentine (d 1908) on March 23, 1875, Montezuma, Poweshiek, Iowa. They were parents of three daughters: Daisy, wife of Jerome V. Carter, d 1913; Millicent, wife of John Hines; Myrtle, wife of Scott LeVake.
Rose died at midnight April 1, 1923, in Fort Dodge, Webster, Iowa and is buried in Masonic I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Montezuma, Poweshiek, Iowa.
