Robert J. Lord is the son of Herbert B. and Minnie (Foreman) Lord. His father was born in Fallowfield, Manchester England. Bob was a Navy veteran of WWII and a member of both the VFW (Okolona Post) and American Legion. As a young man he helped his father who was caretaker at the Jewish cemeteries on Preston. He married Geneva Thompson Hagan in 1947. Bob retired from driving a truck for the Courier-Journal in March of 1985. Bob was a good bowler, and a better dancer. He loved to bet the horses and called Bingo for a number of charitable organizations for many years earning the nickname "Mr. Bingo." He was also called "the good Lord" for his many volunteer hours. He could grow great tomatoes and used to always tend a small garden in the back yard. He was the proud father of one son and four daughters, and enjoyed his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
