Phrona Elizabeth Cowden Dixon Simerly, age 89 of Maryville died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center.
She was a member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church. She loved to laugh, loved people and loved to work in her yard and garden.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Otis Dixon, and Virnace Simerly; son, Charles Otis Dixon; parents, Tom and Lottie Cowden; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, John Chester and Ruby Dixon, of Maryville, Cecil and Diane Dixon, of Waukeagan, IL, William T. And Edna Dixon, of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Beulah and Jack Damron, of Maryville, Sarah and Ronnie Gilbert, of Big Sandy, TN; daughter, Donna Nelson, of Maryville; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Stone, of Phoenix, AZ.
Family and friends will meet at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Dotson Memorial Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Charles Bailey officiating.
