Margaret Adelia Arthur was born in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of Joseph Wales Lawrence Arthur (1880-1953) and his wife, Lydia Hitchcock Arthur (1882-1944). Margaret died in Nachogdoches, Texas at the age of 81. Her father was a painter, mother a housewife. Margaret Adelia Arthur was obviously named in honor of her paternal grandmother, Margaret Adelia (Martin) Arthur, who is also interred in the Lacey Street Cemetery.

Margaret Arthur married on 26 Mar 1932 in Concord, New Hampshire to Norman "Wendall" Spreadbury born 29 Aug 1906 in Woodstock, New Hampshire. From this marriage a son, Norman "Wendall" Spreadbury, Jr. was born in Laceyville, Wyoming Co, PA on 22 Nov 1932. It appears that Margaret Adelia accompanied her husband N. Wendall to Christobal, Canal Zone, Panama as husband, wife, and son returned from Panama departing from Christobal on 4 Aug 1950, on the Steam Ship Anoon arriving in New York City on 9 Aug 1950. At that time Wendall Sr. was 43, Margret was 39 and young Wendall, Jr. was 17. At some point the family fell apart and Norman Wendall Sr. married again woman by the name of Vivian "Estelle" Hatcher Spreadbury. Both are interred in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Texas. As her obituary stated her survivor was her son N. Wendall Spreadbury, Jr. She was also survived by two brothers: David Mason Arthur (1918-1996) of New Jersey and Paul Arthur (1916-1992) of Pennsylvania, both of whom are also interred with their wives in the Lacey Street Cemetery.
