Henry Klemm, March 12, 1902, a native of Germany, aged 43 years. He leaves a wife and 7 small children entirely destitute. Klemm came to Honolulu 3 or 4 years ago from Kauai where he had lived for 10 years. He had been ill for some time and was advised by his physician that a return to alcoholic drinks would result in death. When found dead there was a bottle on a table near him supposed to contain liquor, which has been sent to Dr. Shorey for analysis. The funeral was held March 12; interment a Pearl City Cemetery. *Source-The Hawaiian star. [volume], March 13, 1902, Page 7

"Klemm leaves a widow and 7 children who are absolutely penniless with neither food nor clothing. When the police arrived at the place this morning, the family hadn't a single thing in the house to ear. The neighbors and Deputy Sheriff Chillingworth clubbed together and they were given a square meal. The Associated Charities and German Benevolent Society have taken hold of the matter and will undoubtedly see that the widow and children are well taken care of." *Evening bulletin, March 12, 1902
