WEST BOYLSTON Evelyn E. (Hicks) Anderson, 91, formerly of Maple Street died Wednesday, Feb. 21 in Oakdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Her husband Alfred W. Anderson died in 1974. She leaves a son, Alfred W. Anderson, Jr. in CA, two daughters, Judith E. Koenig of Sandwich, MA and Phyllis E. Booth of Princeton, nine grandchildren and a great grandson. A grandson, Steven Cole of Rutland died in 1984.
She was born in Brookline, MA daughter of Carl and Elizabeth (Scott) Hicks and graduated from Brookline High School. Mrs. Anderson worked for Heald Machine for many years and later was a volunteer at UMASS Memorial Healthcare. In 1996, Evelyn was honored by the Univ. of MA. Medical Center for her volunteer service of over 20 years. She was a member of West Boylston First Congregational Church where she also taught Sunday school.
The funeral service and burial are private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn’s memory to the Oakdale Rehabilitation Activity Fund, 76 North Main St., W. Boylston, MA 01583. FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. is directing arrangements.
