: Leone Joshua Wafflard, 85, of Winter Garden, FL, passed away on July 31, 2019 at the Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital, Ocoee, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Young Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Loren File officiating. Interment will follow in Campground Cemetery with graveside military rites by V.F.W. Post #1377. Memorial contributions are suggested to Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service, starting at 10 a.m.

Leone was born December 11, 1933 in Greenville to Linder Wafflard and Irene (Sugg) Wafflard. He grew up on a farm in rural Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Specialist 3rd Class (SP3).

Leone married Mary Ellen Miles on March 23, 1954 in Lincoln. She died July 14, 2014. After marrying they lived in Chicago where he attended college to study how to design aircraft. They moved to Orlando, FL early in their marriage where he worked at an aircraft factory. Later Leone owned and drove a semi-truck locally – hauling rock and gravel, and also owned and managed a mobile home park and other rental properties in Florida.

Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Alter and husband Russ of Apopka, FL and his son, Mark Wafflard of Apopka, FL; a grandson, Travis Alter and his sister, Linda Stewart of Vandalia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, and brother Raymond Wafflard of Phoenix, AZ.
