A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be held at the Newton First Christian Church, and later in the New Addition at Confidence Cemetery in Wayne County, Iowa.
Velma M. Petty 90, was born October 20, 1928, in Wayne County, Iowa, the daughter of Homer B. and Julia A. (Kern) Buttz.
On May 26, 1946, Velma and Leonard L. Petty were married. She had lived in Windsor Heights, Iowa, and Newton, devoting her life to her husband, daughters and family. She was a member of the Newton First Christian Church.
Velma is survived by her daughter Dana "Petty" (Bob) Outhouse; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sisters Ver Peterson and Donna Beal; and many neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard; a daughter Gail Stump; and her two brothers, Guy Buttz and Roy Buttz.
